Bloody Hell its HOT!!!!
I’m sat in an office, we have the windows open, the door open, the fire escape open, two fans blowing, and its still to darn hot!!
I think when the weather gets this hot we should go nocturnal. Just lie about in the sun during the day, and work during the evening/night… I’m a programmer god darn it, I probably work better at night anyway…
Well, We needed it to try and and take away some of the heat, we prayed for it, we dusted off the ole shamanic gear and did the rain dance, or didn’t but why let reality ruin a good post!
Earlier on the heavens opened and large drops of rain started to fall, which grew into a short but heavy shower.
Now, there is the rumbling of thunder in the distance, and hopefully this storm with show itself, Since the one last night never really got further than the stage of growling like an old dog.
So come on storm, throw your wrath at us, and a localised power cut would be nice as well.
Woooo..
A Customer just came into the office with a bag of magnum ice creams for everyone in the office (Which was seriously needed as its so god darn hot!!) and a bottle of canadian vodka for me, to say thanks for my work on a project…

Sometimes something happens that reaffirms your belief in the universal Justice of the universe (call it Karma, Fate, or whatever your metaphysical name for the concept is!).
Here’s todays Universal Justice.
Over the weekend there was snow, lots and lots of snow. So this morning as I got ready to drive to work my car was encased in about 6 to 7 inches of snow. The outer covering of which had frozen into a hard shell. So I cleaned off the windows and proceeded to drive to work. Now my journey takes me over the moors, the mountains, and some very twisty roads that have several crashes a week even in the best conditions. So due to the snow and ice I was driving at a reasonable speed. And some idiot behind me was tailgating and trying to force me to drive faster. (I hate idiots like that!).
Well as we were driving i heard a bump.. bang.. bump.. bang on the roof of the car, the next second my rear window is completely white as the snow from my roof all falls off at the same time. so we talking a block of snow, 1.5meters by 1.75meters by 6 inches all falling off in one piece. What made it even better was the fact the idiot behind me was so close it either hit the road directly in front of him, or bounced off his bumper. Either way the outer shell shattered and all that soft fluffy snow billowed out in a huge cloud blinding the driver, and forcing him to pull off the side of the road.
When he eventually caught back up with me, he drive at a reasonable speed, and kept a safe distance away from my car :0)
So Fate had taught him a safe lesson.
Sometimes life is good!
You have to admit the world looks peaceful and quiet when covered by a layer of snow. I think all peace talks should always be held in a winter country..
UPDATE:
Its great living in the middle of nowhere. The roads here are just getting gritted, but not by snow gritters like the rest of the country, but by two council workers walking along the road with shovels and bins of grit :0)
Bloody Typical!!
When I was in work and wanted snow, there was none, No lie-ins, no working from home. And now I’m on holiday we have snow.
I just walked into my place to grab a quick change before going out training and as i entered my place there was the faintest covering of white on the ground. When I walked out 15 minutes later the snow is up to an inch deep, and still snowing hard. Looks like the weather people are right, with their predictions of 10inches deep snow by the weekend…
Bugger, means several nights missed training this week, so much for the student of the month trophy!
