Why do I do this every time?

Just a short quick post to leave “Future Me” a note he can look back on, print out, glue to a pair of boots and kick himself in the arse if he has not improved.

You see this evening I have LOI (“Lodge of Instruction” for those of you curious) and was given the role of the Master for the evening, which is a very very big piece to learn. I cut&pasted all the words to a document which ended up a half dozen pages long.  Now in my defence I was only told of my role this evening less than two weeks ago, and had a lot to learn for my normal Lodge night which was last Thursday. So at best I’ve had a couple of days to start learning the words.

And yet, when do I start learning? The day of the meeting, and now have to try and cram pages of words into my short term memory to try and make it through the night without looking too useless.

So “Future Me” I ask you to not still be this last minute guy, and to do proper preparation or else I may just build a time machine, turn up at your door and punch you in the dick (Punishment inspired by @wilw)

Still Missing: General Common Sense.

On August 19th last year (2010) I posted about the Missing common sense in people today.

There are times when I really despair for the Human Race. When I see acts of such stupidity, or people not using the most basic of common sense, and I have to ask myself “Can we survive as the dominant species here on earth” This morning, on my normal commute to the Insane Asylum was one such moment. Let me share with you dear reader. (Taken from Missing: General Common Sense. )

This morning on my commute to the Insane Asylum I noticed there are new roadworks in exactly the same place again, Which in itself shows bad planning. Not only that but as I was waiting for the lights to change a Bin Wagon stops half way through the road works to pick up bins (Which is their job) and when the lights changed to green the cars in front of me moved forward blocking the path of the bin wagon (and cars behind it) and caused a full road blockage as neither directions fo vehicles could move.

So this post is a quick reminder that the common sense of a lot of people is still missing, and could you keep your eyes out for it.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood AKA You can’t Run but You can Hide!

Last night I was sitting with my feet up watching an episode of Babylon 5 as part of #TheGreatBab5Watch, following on from #TheGreatTNGReWatch (These are matters for a different post). Anyway, there I was just finishing the episode that was on, and considering if I should start the next episode or make a trip to the fridge for a cold beer when *ding ding* My mobile goes off with a message from PlanetPete “Internet playing up still? I’m on acb“. Well that made my decision for me, I’d not played on online for a while, and had only had one game of Assassins Creed Brotherhood online, so it seemed a great Idea.

It was suggested since I was unfamiliar with the game that we would play a couple of rounds in a private match, before playing on open games online with groups of people. I must say the private matches first was needed to get into the needed mindset. Now we were playing Hunted(I think the game types called) *EDIT: “I Have been reminded the name was ‘Manhunt'” Basically ‘Hide & Seek’ with a death thrown in at the end. There are two groups, One are assassins with the job of finding and killing the other group, who are trying their best to hide. You then switch half way through.
